Imperial Yellow Incised Dragon Plate, Jiaqing Mark & Period

Up for auction is a fine Imperial yellow plate with beautiful incised dragon decoration. The thinly potted large plate has a rounded side sitting on a tall foot ring. The plate is covered with a finely crackled imperial yolk yellow glaze. The exterior wall is incised under the glaze with two striding dragons chasing flaming pearls. The base is inscribed with a six-character Imperial Jiaqing seal mark in underglaze iron-black. This beautiful Imperial yellow plate is in excellent condition. Pure yellow Imperial vessels were reserved for use by the Emperor only and are the rarest among all monochrome wares.
