Large Carved Celadon Vase, Guangxu Mark & Period



We are offering this rare and fine large celadon vase with carved decoration from the late Qing Dynasty Guangxu Imperial kiln. The tall vase has a broad shoulder tapering downward to a smaller foot. The short neck on top of the shoulder has a flared mouth rim. The exterior is carved with an elegant scene of a large blossoming plum tree growing out of stylized rocks with a flying and a perched birds. The fine shallow relief carving were executed with great care and fine taste under a beautiful and even sea-green celadon glaze. The interior and the base is glazed white. The base is inscribed with a six-character Imperial Guangxu mark in underglaze cobalt blue. Other than some minor glaze wear, this large and beautiful vase is in excellent condition.
