Large Famille Rose Peony Bowl, Xuantong Mark & Period



Up for auction is a large and beautiful Imperial Famille Rose bowl from the reign of the last Emperor of Qing Dynasty. The large bowl has a rounded side and a small foot ring. The exterior is sparsely painted with flowering peony plant and spring flowers in fine famille rose palettes. The base inside the foot rim s inscribed with a six-character Imperial mark in iron-red. The glaze is of fine glossy white typical of late Qing Dynasty Imperial wares. This fine Imperial bowl is in excellent state of preservation with no damage. Due to the short period of Xuantong reign (1908-1911), Imperial wares from this Period are rare and very sought-after by Chinese imperial porcelains collectors.
