This is an elegant Korean inlaid celadon jar of the punch'ong type from 16th Century Choson Period. The jar has a flattened round shape with a wide disc center sitting on a small foot ring. The upper section is inlaid with leaves of water plants floating on water surface. The lower section is inlaid with stamped chrysanthemums florets on a simple white-slip brushed bottom. The foot ring and the recess base is scattered with adhered quartz particles originally used for kiln support. Except for a restored crack at the upper section as photographed, this rare punch'ong jar is in good condition.
