Beautiful Blue-and-White Brush Pot, 20th Century

Up for auction is a beautiful brush holder decorated with delicate underglaze blue painting. The lovely cylindrical brush pot is painted in various shades of cobalt blue with a playful bird on tree branch above blossoming chrysanthemum flowers. The painting quality is outstanding and can easily surpasses many good ink paintings on paper. The shallow base inside the foot ring is inscribed with a apocryphal four-character Yongzheng mark in blue. The glaze is of pure white color with undulating surface typical of early Republic porcelain. This is a fine example of porcelain produced after the Imperial kiln revival during the early 20th Century. The beautiful brush pot is in excellent condition.
