Famille Rose Longevity Plate, Xuantong Mark & Period



We are offering a fine famille rose plate from the reign of the last emperor, Xuantong (1909-1911), of the Qing Dynasty. The short stepped conical-shaped plate is decorated in famille rose palette of a center roundel of longevity character surrounded by five flying bats in the center well. The border is decorated with butterflies separated by various types of flower branches. The decorative sections are divided by fine underglaze blue pigment lines. A broad cobalt blue line frames the outer edge of the plate. The underside is undecorated except for the six-character Xuantong Imperial mark inscribed in iron red. This fine late Imperial plate is in excellent condition with no crack or chip.
