Fine Signed and Dated Soapstone Seal, 20th Century



This flat-shape soapstone seal has a very beautifully carved calligraphy on one wall with a date and the carver's signature. The seal face is carved with three archaic characters which we have photographed the impression. The stone is of grayish yellow color with good transparency. The surface is covered with a fine mellow patina from years of handling. Except for stone fissure crack at the top of the seal, it is in good condition.
