A Pair of Fine Famille Rose Vases, 20th Century

Up for auction is another fine Chinese porcelain from the Imperial kiln after Qing Dynasty has collapsed. The vases retains all the fine characteristics of late Qing Dynasty Imperial prcelains and bears an iron-red seal mark of a hall name , Ju Ren Tang, which is related to Yuan Shikai Who proclaimed himself Emperor Hongxian in 1916. The large vases are thinly potted into an elegant long-neck shape with ovoid body. The exterior is decorated with two panels of finely painted chrysanthemum and peony flowers. The remaining surface is covered with fine and elaborate motif of flowers and geometric patterns. The base and the upper part of the interior are covered with fine turquoise enamel typically used in Qing Imperial famille rose vases. The enamels materials and the painting skills demonstrated by this beautiful pair of vases rival the best famille rose vases from the Qianlong and Jiaqing period. We rank this pair of vases as one of the best early 20th century Chinese porcelains of Imperial quality. It is also extremely rare to find the pair remains together. As the other Qing Imperial porcelains we have listed recently, this pair of vases was purchased in 1970's in Japan. Size: Height: 28cm
