Fine Blanc De Chine Guanyin on Elephant, 17th Century

We are offering a very beautiful Chinese Blanc de Chine statue of a Buddhist Guanyin seated on an elephant. Blanc de Chine (White of China in French) is a name given by early French collectors for this type of ware produced in the Southern China province of Fujian. As seen on the detailed photos, the statue's is extremely fine with all details of garment folds, jewelry beads, fingers, and facial/body contours of Guanyin and elephant delicately finished. The porcelain is pure white and is covered with the typical beige/i-vory color glaze of early Blanc de Chine. This is one of the most beautiful Blanc de Chine statues we have seen on the market in recent years. Except for a minute chip to the string connecting a bead to the elaphant as photographed, the exceptional statue is in excellent condition with all fingers intact. This is a beautiful porcelain sculpture for serious collectors of Chinese porcelain and Buddhist scuptures.
