Small Blue-and-White Water Coupe, Qing Dynasty

This is an interesting Qing Dynasty calligrapher's water coupe from the scholar's desk. The globular water coup has a wide mouth rim and a small recessed base. The exterior is decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with scholars and playful children among beautiful landscape of towering mountain reflected on vast water surface. The recessed base is inscribed with a four character hall mark. This lovely blue-and-white water coupe is in excellent condition. Although we are not able to identify the hall mark, this small porcelain vessel all the characteristics of a Qing Imperial wares.
