Imperial Famille Rose Chicken Cup, Yongzheng Mark & Period



This is a very fine famille rose cup from the Yongzheng period decorated with Ming style "chicken Cup" design. The large cup has a sloping wall rising to a flared mouth rim. The exterior is painted with two pairs of hens and cockerels playing with their chicks on a green grass land. The center of the interior is painted with a single cockscomb flower in fine famille rose enamels. The sparsely enameled decoration on pure white porcelain results in this Imperial cup with true elegant and regal quality. The base is inscribed with a six-character Yongzheng Imperial mark with a double-ring in underglaze blue. except for a few burst bubbles at the rim with accumulated dirt, the Imperial chicken cup is in excellent condition.
