Large Blue-and-White Ceremonial Stand, Choson Dynasty

We are offering a rare Korean blue-and-white ceremonial stand from the 19th Century Choson period. The uniquely potted vessel was used as a ritual stand for placing ceremonial offerings on the raised platform. The vessel has a circular plate sitting on an octagonal tall foot. The center of the top plate is inscribed with a large Chinese character of "Ji, or Worship" in underglaze blue. The raised side of the plate is simply decorated with a band of short slanted lines. The white glaze is of slightly tinted white color. This fine white glazed Korean ritual stand is in excellent with only minor glaze wears.
