Chinese Boxwood Brush Pot, 18th Century

This is another fine item from our years of passionate collection of literati art. A cylindrical block of fine grain boxwood was hollowed out and intricately carved in the exterior with elegant composition in deep relief. The boxwood is of the finest quality and has developed a smooth chestnut-color patina from years of handling. We rank this boxwood brush pot as one of the best of its kind from the 18th Century. Except for a small triangular stable crack at the base, this beautiful boxwood carving is in excellent condition.
Size: Widest diameter: 10.1cm; Height: 12.8cm
