Fine Famille Rose Vase, Hongxian Mark & Period



We are offering a beautiful famille rose vase from the short Hongxian period ( 1915-1916) of early 20th Century. This vase is a fine testimony of the fact that there was a ceramics quality revival in the old Qing Dynasty Imperial kilns in Jingdezhen area during the Hongxian period. The slender vase has an ovoid shoulder, a constricted foot and a short neck. There is a circular panel at each side of the vase. Each panel is decorated with different scene of flowers and birds. The reserve blank space is futher adorned with various insects in different positions and flower motif. All painting were executed in the traditional Qing Imperial workshop style and quality. The shallow base is inscribed in blue enamel with a four-character Hongxian mark within a double square. The porcelain and glaze is of flawless quality typical of Hongxian period. The wonderful vase is in excellent condition without any chip or cracks.
