Gilt Painted Blue Vase, Guangxu Mark & Period



We are offering a fine late Qing Dynasty Imperial porcelain with a rare decoration of gilt painting over a monochrome dark blue glaze. The slender cylindrical vase has a short neck over a slanted shoulder and a dish-shaped mouth rim. The blue-glazed surface is decorated in fine gilt enamel with two deers underneath a large old pine tree. A long poem with three seals is written in excellent calligraphy on the other side of the vase. The painting style follows the traditional Qing Imperial workshop tradition complete with fine enamel painting and a colophon poem. The base inside the deep foot ring is glazed white and is inscribed with a six-character Guangxu Imperial mark in cobalt blue. This rare Qing Imperial porcealain vase is in excellent condition.
