Fine Moss Agate Snuff Bottle, Qing Dynasty



We are offering a very fine and extremely rare moss agate snuff bottle carved skillfully with retained stone skin as the color for composing the decoration. The bottle is of flattened shape with one side carved with the green color skin to depict a scholar and his attendant conversing underneath an old pine tree growing from the towering cliff. The semi-translucent stone of smokey-gray color. The interior is well hollowed and the bottle is very light weight. It is adapted with a fine amethyst and bead stopper. Except for a minute chip at the attendant's foot, the beautiful snuff bottle is in excellent condition. Size: width:4.6cm; height:5.7cm (without stopper), 7.0cm (with stopper)
