Imperial Aubergine Dragon Dish, Jiaqing Mark & Period

We are offering another authentic Imperial Qing Dynasty porcelain for serious Chinese Imperial ware collectors. This dish is in a classic saucer shape with elaborately carved dragons chasing flaming pearls among waves. The carving is superb with all details incised and carved with amazing precision. Except for the unglazed foot ring, the dish is completely covered with a fine aubergine glaze. A six-character seal mark of Jianqing Emperor (1760-1820 A.D.) in black is inscribed under the glaze at the base. It is known that Imperial porcelains inscribed with black reign marks were intended for use during Imperial funerals of Emperors or Empresses. This saucer could have been one of the vessel used for Qianlong emperor's funeral during the Jiaqing reign. The dish is in excellent state of preservation with no condition problem. This fine Imperial piece was acquired before 1975 in Japan, please bid with confidence. Size: Rim diameter: 14.6cm; Height: 2.9cm
