Imperial Gilt Bronze Sceptre, Ruyi, Qing Dynasty

We are offering a very important Imperial works of art from Qing Dynasty Palace workshop. The large bronze Ruyi sceptre is in the shape of a long tapered handle curved to a large Ruyi head. The Ruyi head is elaborately carved and chased with a large five-claw Imperial dragon among clouds above a wave pattern. The upside of the handle is chased with delicate design of eight Buddhist treasures above a wave pattern all reserved by a punched minute fish-roe ground. The bronze surface is richly gilded with fine gold. The underside of the handle is undecorated. A three character hall mark in archaic script is carved intaglio on the underside. The hall mark must have been a studio in the Imperial Palace or one of the Imperial retreats. This is one item normally offered by major auction houses in their Imperial sales in Hong Kong. We are offering it at a fraction of the auction price. Do not miss out on this opportunity to own a truly majestic Chinese Imperial works of art. In order to demonstrate the large size of this Royal sceptre, we have included a photo taken with a lady's watch (not included in this listing) as a reference to its magnificent dimension. Other than some surface gilt wear, this Imperial Ruyi sceptre is in excellent condition.
