Large Copper-Red Glazed Vase, Kangxi Mark & Period

This is a large Qing Imperial Kangxi period vase glazed with a fine copper-red glaze. The vase has a cylindrical body rising to a short neck with raised rib. The exterior is glazed with rich copper-red glaze which is natural variegated into white, peach bloom, and deep raspberry patches. The natural variation of red glaze makes this vase a rare and beautiful example of this difficult to control glaze which were perfected during the early part of Qing Dynasty. The base inside the slightly splayed foot ring is glazed white and is inscribed with a six-character Imperial Kangxi mark within a double-ring. Kangxi marked copper-red vase of this large size is very rare. The beautiful vase is in excellent condition with pristine glossy glaze.
