Large Double Gourd Famille Rose Vase, Qing Dynasty



We are offering a very large and imposing double-gourd vase with beautiful painting in famille rose palette. The vase is decorated with two large and two small panels of delicate scenes of playful children and court ladies in gardens. The reserve space is covered with fine turquoise enamel ground adorned with flowers and auspicious emblems. The interior and the base is glazed white. The base is inscribed with a apocryphal six-character Qianlong seal mark in iron-red enamel. This is a very fine ad large famille rose vase with decorative style and quality of enamel typically found on products from late Qing Dynasty Imperial kiln. We date this vase to be from late 19th Century of Qing Dynasty. The vase is in excellent condition except for a small old chip and a very short crack at the foot rim as photographed.
