Fine Small Famille Rose Jar, Guangxu Mark & Period

Up for auction is a beautiful Qing Dynasty Imperial porcelain of a famille rose jar decorated with playful water fowls in a garden scene. The rounded short jar has a large mouth rim and a slightly curled-back short neck. The exterior is profusely painted with a fine painting of a joyful spring scene with blossoming flowers, frolicking water fowls, and beautiful rock work. The painting in fine famille rose palettes is superbly executed. If not for the late Qing Guangxu mark, one would mistakenly date this famille rose decoration as by the 18th Century Imperial kiln. The recessed base is inscribed with a six-character Guangxu Imperial mark in iron-red. Except for glaze wear with staining to the surface, the beautiful Guangxu Imperial famille rose jar is in excellent condition.
Size: height: 8.9cm; body diameter; 13.4cm
