We are offering this fine Japanese Edo Period painting of a beautiful tiger. The ink and color on paper painting depicts a fierce-looking tiger in a menacing position with its tail raised. The facial expression and fur are elaborately painted with precise hairline ink line and subtle coloring. A three-character artist's signature is inscribed with two artist's seals. We have not researched the name of the artist. Based on the style and quality of the tiger's rendition, it can be attributed to an Edo period artist of outstanding skill. Other than a few damaged area and missing scroll ends as photographed, this beautiful tiger painting is in good condition.
