Fine Blue-and-White Dragon Bowl, Yongzheng Period

This is an extremely delicate Yongzheng period dragon-decorated blue-and-white bowl with a Hall Mark of "Jing Wei Tang". The bowl has a rounded shape and extremely thin and delicate wall. The exterior is painted in pale cobalt blue with two striding dragons chasing each other among clouds and above a band of churning waves. The painting style is similar to that of Douca with outline and fill-in technique. The base inside the tall foot ring is inscribed with a four-character hall mark of "Jing Wei Tang Zhi, Made by Jing Wei Tang" within a double square. Jing Wei Tang was one of Yongzheng Emperor's studied in the Forbidden City. This hall mark appeared on several fine examples of Yongzheng Period Imperial porcelains in public collections. The quality of this beautiful bowl is definitely equal or surpass other Yongzheng Imperial porcelains with its fine painting, pale blue pigment, and superb glaze/porcelain.This fine Imperial blue-and-white dragon bowl is in excellent condition.
