Fine Imperial Blue-and-White Vase, Qianlong Mak & Period



Up for auction is a beautiful Qianlong Mark and of the Period blue-and-white vase with early archaic bronze shape and decoration. The slender body has a constricted neck and flared mouth rim sits on a lightly splayed foot. The exterior is painted in fine cobalt blue with various auspicious motif and scroll. The painting style is unique as it was painted with fine outline and filled in with darker blue. The resulting effect is that the blue-and-white decoration with an exquisite Doucai style. The vase is inscribed with a Imperial Qianlong six-character mark in blue. The unglazed foot rim exposes silky smooth porcelain body. The interior has some yellow patches due to thinner glaze which were burnt yellow after firing. Except for a minute glaze flaw with accumulated dirt as photographed, this lovely vase is in excellent condition.
