Chinese Figure Painting Leaf with Poem, 20th Century



This is a fine Chinese ink and color painting of a country girl and a cat. The folk art style painting uses very vivid color to depict a simple scene of daily life. The painting is inscribed with a long poem and four artist's seals. This is a loose leaf simply matted with a thin layer of rice paper which was originally framed. This painting was acquired in Japan in 1972. Except for a small surface peel spot, the painting is in excellent condition.
