Fine Doucai Saucer Dish, Guangxu Mark & Period

We are offering another fine late Qing Dynasty Imperial porcelain from our large collection of oriental ceramics. The delicate small saucer dish is elaborately decorated in the interior with a center "Shou or Longevity" roundel surounded by Lancai Characters and classic Ruyi scrolls. The exterior is further decorated with archaic scroll motif and Ruyi border. All decorations are painted with fine underglaze cobalt blue outlines and vivid Doucai enamel of high quality. The base is inscribed with a six-character Imperial Guangxu mark in cobalt blue. As you can see from our previous listings, we are particularly fond of Imperial Doucai porcelain due to its fine painting, delicate potting, and vivid and transparent enamels unique to Doucai pieces. Despite its late Qing date, this dish retains the high Imperial quality of earlier periods. Except for a very small chip at he unglazed foot ring, the wonderful Doucai dish is in excellent condition.
