Large Jadeite Plaque, Qing Dynasty

We are offering another fine early jadeite carving from the late 19th to early 20th Century of the Qing Dynasty. The unusually large and thick slab of fine quality jadeite was carved on both sides into artistic garden and palace building scenery. The carver skillfully used the natural apple green veining to enhance the green hills and tree foliage. Unlike recent mass-produced jadeite items, the layout design and carving are not only ingenious but also tasteful only found in early jade carvings. There is a small perforation for suspension. It was mounted on a modern wood stand as a table screen by a previous collector. This is a very rare find for its superb carving, excellent material, large size, and tasteful old design. It should not be missed by any serious collector of jadeite carvings. Size: Height: 10.7cm; Width: 8.0cm Thickness: 1.1cm
