This is a very fine Koryo celadon with inlaid decoration under a beautiful glaze. The small saucer dish has a unique twelve-lobed shape. Each lobe is decorated with inlaid chrysanthemum Flowers in black and white clay. Glaze pools at vertical indented lines which separate the lobes to form a darker sea green color. The saucer is completely covered with glaze except four spurs at the base as kiln support during firing. This lovely dish might have been used as a brush washer or water coupe for the scholar's desk. It is in excellent condition except for some natural glaze crackle lines which add to the beauty of the glaze.
