Rare Court Bead Necklace, Qing Dynasty



This is a rare Chinese Court bead necklace worn by high ranking official during his visit to the Imperial palace. During Qing Dynasty, each official had to wear long necklace of particular combination of beads to help differentiate ranks. This particular court necklace has a combination of fine orange agate, rock crystal, jadeite, and turquoise beads. Old protocols of Chinese court costume must have designated this type of combination to a certain rank. Based on the quality of the beads, this court bead court necklace should have been worn by very high officials. This is a complete necklace with its original accessories. This fine and beautiful Court Bead Necklace is in excellent condition.

108 orange agate beads (1.3 cm diameter); 3 small Hair Rock Crystal tear drops(1.7cmx3.4cm); 1 large hair rock rock crystal tear drop (2.2cmx4cm); 1 flat dark crystal bead(4.1cmx2.7cm); 4 large jadeite beads( 1.7cm diameter); 30 dark turquoise beads ( 0.8cm diameter); 1 large dark turquoise bead (1.0cm)
