Small Blue-and-white jar with narrative scene

This is an intriguing Chinese blue-and-white jar with an unusually small size and decorated with a delicate narrative scene typically found on Yuan Dynasty jar. The small jar is modelled into an eight-faceted shape with two lion's head on each side. The decoration is painted with vivid blue pigment reserved for high quality early blue-and-white pieces. All four ears of the lion's heads are chipped. There are a few small chips at the mouth rim. Other than the chips, the beautiful jar is in good condition. We date this fine jar as 19th Century or earlier.
Size: Height: 11.8cm, Width: 12cm
