Fine Blue-And-White Dragon Jardiniere, Ming Dynasity



We are offering a fine 16th Century Ming Dynasty blue-and-white dragon jardiniere. The exterior of this classic-shaped vessel is decorated with a striding dragon chasing a flaming pearl among cloud motif. The cobalt pigment is of deep purplish blue color typical of 16th Century blue-and-white pieces. The interior is glazed white. The flat mouth rim is unglazed to show the white porcelain body. The base is flat and unglazed with the body burnt orange. There are some burst bubbles kiln defects on the painted surface. Other than the kiln flaw, the jardiniere is in good condition.
