This is a very fine early Qing Dynasty imperial copper-red vase from Kangxi period. The fine vase has a globular body with a smaller bottom and a straight neck tapering toward a larger mouth rim. The exterior except the recessed base is covered with an even soft raspberry-red glaze which stops at the base with a raised ring. The interior and the base is glazed white. The base is inscribed with a six-character Kangxi Imperial mark within a double ring. Except for some wear and abrasion to the mouth rim and the lower glaze ring, this beautiful red-glazed vase is in excellent condition. This copper-red vase is uniquely beautiful due to its unusual soft color which is similar to enameled rouge-red color of later period. This type of soft color is very difficult to achieve with the high-fired copper-red glaze.
